Max and Jay have been friends for ages, although they are as different as night and day. Sports reporter Max is a real womanizer, whereas Jay is still not over the breakup with his flighty last girlfriend and would rather throw himself into working on his new book than into a new love story. So Jay can't think of anything better than to set Max up with the exciting and beautiful Samantha, who is introduced to him as the new editor at his publishing house. Samantha and Max seem made for each other; they get engaged just weeks after their first meeting. Life is rosy for the two of them until Max suddenly gets cold feet and seriously considers whether he is even cut out for a monogamous life. And more crucially: Is Samantha even cut out for him? To find out, he demands that Jay test his bride's fidelity. While he is away on a business trip, Jay is supposed to try to seduce Samantha. Naturally, Jay indignantly rejects this immoral offer. But the more he works with Samantha, the more exciting he finds her and finally agrees... and that has consequences, chaos ensues.
